Like I needed another project… Right?

Yeah I did!

I needed something to get me off of this computer and back to work outside more. And this is doing the trick.

Starting with a completely stock truck I am first fixing problem areas, due to the 180,000 miles on the Odometer. There are lots of small things but, they don’t keep me from using Synyster for working out of.

Project: Synyster

Synyster with Josh's cruiser

Already finished is:
Replacing the stock exhaust that had a leak that made the truck sound like mid-60′s Beetle, with a modified Turbo muffler and a turn down, hot rod style, exiting right at the back of the cab.

Pulling all of the badges and stripes except for the badge in the grille.

Blacking out the headlight and tail light lenses and the worn-through silver on the grille insert.

I have started touching up the paint that is starting to show signs of loosing its clear coat in spots. None lost yet, and now that I have caught it; it’s not going to either.

Stay tuned for more on this truck! And it also has me inspired to start playing with an idea for getting my Project: Dezert Cruzer out of the storage!

By the way: Project: Synyster was named because of guitarist Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold… just a bit of trivia… LOL

Just a short post to update on the recent situation!

My son has offered to help me push Dezert Cruzer to the forefront, so as I move him out of storage and restart the process of first rat rodding because of the overwhelming amount of work due to the several years of storage, then proceeding to the full customizing.

Also, soon to be released the new project: Synystre a 1989 Sonoma three door. Looking forward to this project with gusto! Just purchased last week from my son-in-law, so expect a picture update as well as a full list of upcoming mods! Soonly! Or sooner…

Also just registered this particular blog with Technorati so in reguard to that, here is the token: 6F6ZE4GAJD5Q

Pretty cool the way they have started weeding out the spammers! Maybe now people can find my stuff without me becoming a spammer too! heheh

The original car's adIf I have my way, Patriot is slotted for a total rebuild with a Dodge Magnum V-6, and the car will be used for SCCA SOLO-II or drift competitions, along with some forays into audio competitions as well.

If my better half has her way, Patriot would be hauled off for the $25 worth of scrap that he’s actually worth right now.

The original motor is sitting in Dezert Cruizer, after most recently sitting down in Rambunktious. And was running (besides eating a battery every week, because of a short in the points) when it was pulled.

So Patriot as he sits now wouldn’t be worth much as scrap. The motor and transmission are worth more as scrap aluminum, than the whole car is worth now.

But.

There will come a day soon-

Me driving Sixx about a year before the wreckJust a highlight of an upcoming project. I’m looking to buy another ’93 Ranger Splash and recreate the one that was wrecked. I will start posting a progress report here, as well as any further updates on Sixx.

Shown here before door handles and bug deflector were painted, the Splash decals and SVT Blue Oval decals had been added where the old chrome emblems came off. And it was also before I put my splash-oozing tint job on the windshield. Also before the tri-bar knock offs added to the stock wheels that were color keyed to.

Also this photo doesn’t show the removed headlight covers. It also does no justice to the white undercarriage!

Poor Little SixxThe second photo depicts what happens when you turn left in the rain in front of someone with their headlights off. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, though the insurance payoff went to purchase Lead Sled, which will be another revival project someday…

Some new news on the whole project senario. Anyone who knows me knows well that my projects have been dead in the water for about 5 years, as has Keystone Kustoms.

Now, with news of my upcoming project for my little farm project, I should be able to start making some side money by making stuff for sale on the internet. Probably, soon I will be offering my wares on two or three different areas of http://www.Etsy.com

Then I will be detailing the move of all of my projects to the farm. By the way, the farm will be named Paravel from here on out, for it’s namesake from the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis. My uploads will be to a new Flickr account, that way I can broadcast them to several places from one spot.

Also, look out for some links soon to some shops at http://www.cafepress.com and http://www.zazzle.com for the “Save …” actions. Think of them as saving some of my old friends. Also repeats of these articles will be posted at Squidoo for more exposure.

As a car nut, I believe we auotmotive enthusiasts should be able to appreciate all forms of auto customizing. Like music there are going to be some styles we don’t neccisarily care for, such as I can appreciate the work that goes into lifting a car and putting 24 to 30 inch rims on it, but I don’t think I’ll be driving a Donk around. Funny though, because I think if someone gave me a Dodge Neon with a 4X4 Toyota and a 350 ci Chevy wrapped on top of Mickey Thompson 36s and lots of 4X4 chrome…

But, I think most of us at one point or another feel that an important part of a car is the audio system. Some head units at this point have DVD and video screen capability. Some units have MP3 compatibility some you can have mulitple albums on one CD-R for long trips. Now I had full plans for hitting you with a CarToys.com banner or something, but because of the weekend, my affiliate status is still pending.

Then there is that one little weekness that most of us have had. Bass. Yeah, you know you have. It may have been years ago, but you’ve punched up that subwoofer. EPMD, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, Fresh Prince, Tone Loc (wait, ever noticed how many old rappers became actors? Things that make you go hmm). Maybe you were more of a Def Leppard fan, remember those 15″ Rockfords and that Hifonic’s Collossus rattling your neighbor’s windows to Anthrax’s “Killer B’s” or Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart”?

Or maybe your weekness is a bit more recent. Me, I still listen to just about everything, from death metal to classical, and while those genre’s can tax a sub system, nothing hurts a long excusion subwoofer like rap. I recently ran across a site with Hip Hop on the brain. Specializing in all things Hip Hop, clothes, kickz, and zines. But this also means that the especially have those CDs and DVDs to scratch that jiggle in your ear drum, and then, they also carry vinyl to do your own DeeJay work. Check it out!

THE HIP-HOP SHOP. New CDs, DVDs, Clothing, Kickz, Magazines, Vinyl and more! Weekly Specials, Low Prices, Fast Shipping!

Now stay tuned for more!

As some of you who follow my musings at squidoo and my other wordpress blog can attest to, I’m a car nut. Just not certified yet.

With the advent of this up and coming blog, I will attempt to make it clear that I should be committed to asylum, for my automotive beliefs.

That notwithstanding, I do have some arguements that tend to sound “green” but rest assured this blog will stand clear that I am a car nut.

Things that will be presented here:

1. Step by step how to’s on the projects I am working on, from sound systems to body work, engine work to garage how to’s, to make life simpler.
2. Pictures of my occational road trips to forgotten highways.
3. And of course to fund these things I will be signing up to several affiliate sites, and hopefully won’t be denied because of it just being a “blog.”

One thing I’m Not going to do here is Adsense. I get tired of seeing google’s name on everything…

That’s it for the first post!
